Randy Rogers Band Hosts Star Studded Annual Spring Branch Golf Jam
On a warm Monday night in Spring Branch, Texas, a few golfers, a few musicians and a few who claim to be both gathered together for a good cause and a good time. For its’ fourth year at the River Crossing Golf Club, the Randy Rogers Band hosted the annual Golf Jam. It was a full day of golf followed by a night full of incredible music. Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Bruce Robison and Jim Beavers sat together on stage and took turns sharing tunes. Rogers who has been very close with this community for years, having lived in River Crossing for a short time, thanked the crowd and his stage friends for coming out and supporting the beneficiary of the evening, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. Ticket sales were open to the general public and many locals bought VIP tables or brought chairs to sit on the lawn and enjoyed having such an incredible opportunity mere miles from their homes. An added surprise came when fellow musician Kevin Fowler helped out with the live auction of a guitar signed by all the performers. Fowler, who let the crowd know he really was only there to play golf, offered to do one song if the guitar got at least $5,000, which it did. But, $5,000 was just a drop in the bucket for what the day raised which included donations from sponsors such as Y100 Radio, golf registration, ticket sales, and several thousand raised through the silent auction which was filled with signed guitars and other great items from well known country musicians. The event continues to grow in popularity and is yet another reason the Bulverde/Spring Branch community is one of a kind so Branchers be on the look out next year!
